Kimball pianos are very popular because they are small, beautiful, delicately finished pianos with good quality parts. This one has a walnut casing.
The DE 322 Kimball upright pianoforte and stool is currently awaiting assessment.

Although not as well-known a make of piano in South Africa, this is simply because many were not imported. The Kimball name was so well-known in America that after the Kimball Piano Co. was sold to The Jasper Corporation in 1959, the company changed its name from Jasper International to Kimball International! A late model like this reveals the influence of the furniture company’s production in structure, maintains the family tradition and may very well carry some improvements influenced by the company’s 1961 purchase of Bösendorfer. The Kimball piano was designed to fit a home, maintaining its slogon of, “Music For The Millions!” throughout its production.
