Serial number: 39660. As the piano industry evolved there was a contemporary compulsion for factories to produce smaller pianos. This was especially the case in London and this Behar is a successful example of the advancement.
Most shorter pianos are generally wider. This one has a smaller footprint in both width and depth – without looking too short. Its structure is curvaceous and extremely elegant. One can see how alluring its unusual casing once was, but it has been too warn on its journey so we will be painting it with chalk paint.
English pianos typically have a playfully bright tone, a pleasing subtle liveliness rather than just bright. Befittingly, this Behar has a very pleasant, cheerful and clear tone. It has 85 keys – with a medium light touch – and 2 pedals. The piano’s dimensions are a height of 109,5 cm, a width of 139 cm and a depth of 55,5 cm.
