This Young Chang was relabelled Bernhard Steiner. It was built in Korea in the 1980’s. Young Chang has become well recognised and the factory history is an interesting subject, developed in conjunction with some of the world’s best known piano brands, always focused on producing a quality and enduring standard of work. This is a 157 model, which is coveted as being a superior offering.
The piano has a walnut casing with a gloss finish. The finish is a polyester and has some light cracking in it as is extremely common with that finish. They are, however, not noticeable and not worth repairing.
The tone is lively but rich as well, so is a really nice balance for most music styles and allows variance in play. The piano has 88 keys – with a medium to firm touch weight – and 3 pedals. The middle pedal being a sostemuto.
