Serial number: 22358. Rebranded Bernard Steiner & Sohn, this piano was manufactured in Liepzig, Germany in 1966. It has a walnut casing and a Renner action – which is a mark of quality – the quality one expects from the Zimmerman Factory!
This is a gorgeous piano! The top lifts like a grand would allowing the option for ‘extended’ sound as well as elegance. The grain and patina of the casing is lovely. The structure is just that much more than your typical piano: the legs being the most obvious feature; the curve at the front of the top flat panel and the top front corner of the side panels adds an extra touch.
As one would expect from a German piano, it has a rich, mellower tone. The piano has 88 keys – with a medium weight touch – and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are height of 106.5 cm, width of 141 cm and depth of 53 cm. This piano ticks all of the boxes!
