Serial number: 375563. This Model P2 Yamaha was manufactured in Japan, in 1965. This has long been one of our favourite model Yamaha uprights. For whatever reason they have astonishingly good tone, better than many taller examples. This is usually the case with these earlier models: their tone is far warmer and richer tone compared to newer models.
The whole outer casing has bleached slightly from the original – as seen on the photo with the open fall – where the inner shows the original mahogany colour, but this has toned down the redress which is probably a preferred look today and has lightened all round. The finish is in very good condition without damage.
The piano has 88 keys, with a medium weight touch, and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 116 cm, a width of 150 cm and a depth of 61 cm.
