Serial number: 1079383. This Yamaha upright was built in Japan in the mid 1970’s. These Spinet models are ever popular due to their elegance and subtle aesthetic as well as being a good piano with good tone. This one has been repolished to a satin black finish and is extremely elegant.
They have a particularly good medium, positive touch weight, but as the key lifts, rather than pushes the hammer forward, have a better-than-most-uprights touch for more serious pianists who need to get used to the touch of a grand piano. As such one often finds them as the choice of teachers and schools.
The tone is lively with good range. It has 3 pedals. The middle pedal operates the bass damper lift, thus it is not a practice pedal. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 94 cm, a width of 145.5 cm and a depth of 65.5 cm.
