Serial number: 146805. This Steck upright was manufactured in 1942 by George Steck and Co. based in New York. It is a lovely-looking piano with a mahogany casing, attractive legs and a shorter structure.
For a small piano, it has a rather soothing and comfortable warm and robust tone. The piano has 88 keys – with a lighter touch – and 3 pedals (the middle pedal operating the bass dampers only). The dimensions of this piano are height of 94 cm, a width of 145 cm and depth of 59 cm.

Born in Germany and with an early association with the French Erard manufacturer, George Steck established the reliable make of pianos and continued drafting designs in his retirement influencing production in various companies. Although this piano would have been produced many, many years after his death, and after the company merged with the great Aeolian Company, the mark of influence is displayed.
