Samick Grand Piano (943)

This piano was made by Samick of Korea in the later 1980’s. It was bought new by the seller and is practically in as-new condition. The history of Samick is closely associated with links in manufacturing techniques and use of materials to the arguably most famous Japanese piano makers. We find them to be extremely well made with a beautifully rich tone not usually associated with Eastern pianos. The actions are smooth and durable and the overall product is very pleasing.

This one was rebranded Bernard Steiner in a time when the name was more marketable in South Africa. It has the more-rare walnut casing in a high gloss finish. It is a 185 model, meaning it measures that or slightly more in centimetres making it a lovely sized instrument with good tonal balance.

The piano has 88 keys, with a firm touch and 3 pedals. This is a wonderful buy for anyone serious about getting an instrument to practice for greatness. The amazing condition makes this an exceptional find.

The DE 943 Samick (Re-labelled Bernhard Steiner) Grand Pianoforte and stool was sold in October 2020.
