Serial number: 27363. This is a Classic Model Otto Bach that was manufactured in the Dietmann Factory, in Wellington, Western Cape. Otto Bach is a well-known and popular make of piano in South Africa.
This is a wonderful example of our painted pianos, painted with Annie Sloane Chalk paint: an undercoat of Graphite and topcoat of Aubasson Blue (February 2018). Chalk paint applied in layers wears well providing a natural French Provincial finish. Pianos can be distressed to show a similar finish. Aubasson Blue is a remarkable colour of chalk paint and reflects different shades of blue and even green with light variation and it is very well suited to the Graphite Grey undercoat. Both colours, combined or alone, are our most popular chalk paint colour finishes!
