Petrof Upright Piano (402)

Serial number: 85615. This piano was built in the 1960’s. The Petrof manufacturer (in Czechoslovakia) has a very good reputation for building high quality, expensive pianos. This one is an extremely high-quality piano, suitable for a very high level of playing.

This piano’s casing was one of Eshelby Piano’s first attempts at a French Country Style finish (2014). The topcoat is an unusual cream colour, the distressing reveals subtle lines of the grey undercoat and the original brown casing. The finish suits the delicate frames on the top and bottom panel as well as its lovely Queen Anne legs.

It has a beautiful rounded, but lively, tone. The piano has 88 keys – with a medium touch – and 2 pedals. The dimensions are a height of 105 cm, a width of 142.5 cm and a depth of 53 cm.

The JAE 402 Petrof Upright Pianoforte with matching stool is currently hired out.
