Serial number: 63534018. This Otto Bach was manufactured in the Dietmann Factory, in South Africa.
We painted the piano casing with a medium grey shade of chalk paint (January 2020). It is a wonderful, versatile grey which reflects light with awesome shade variation. The top flat panel can be opened like a grand piano lid, which gives the piano quite an appearance and allows for a greater projection of sound.
It has 88 keys, with a medium touch, and 2 pedals. Its dimensions are height of 108 cm, width of 144.5 cm and depth of 56 cm.
The JAE 447 Otto Bach Upright Pianoforte with matching stool is currently hired out.

It is seldom that you find a used piano which does not need to be repolished or painted. Natural wear and tear only suits a well-painted and layered chalk paint finish, thus becoming a proper French Provincial finish.
“Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can.”
― Danny Kaye
This piano has been revitalised with its bespoke chalk painted finish. The medium grey shade of the chalk paint would suit most contemporary homes.
