Serial number 662591. This piano was manufactured in South Africa and is of a quality that can’t be fairly compared to later, cheaper built examples. The casing is of a much better quality and structure and is made of superior material. It contains a Renner action – which is always a mark of quality – and has the same back as was used in Knight pianos, which are known for their wonderful tone and consistency throughout the tonal range.
It has a lovely structure with Queen Anne legs and the added detail to its top front panel.
Its casing has been painted the Gris Belge shade of Rubio Monocoat (February 2018). It has a light coating of the Monocoat so that the wood grain can be seen through it. We have found this product very popular as it gives the casing great variation of colour.
Here you have quality and style!
The piano has a rich, but brighter tone, 88 keys – with a medium to heavy touch – and 2 pedals. Its dimensions are height of 113.5 cm, width of 142 cm and depth of 55 cm.
The JAE 435 Otto Bach Upright Pianoforte with matching stool is currently hired out.
