Mackay Bros Upright Piano (097)

Serial number 6350. This piano has a burr walnut casing, with interesting detail etched into the centre panel. Being called the Transvaal model makes this a piece of South African history! The piano would date to pre-1920 and one can’t help but think of its history.

It would likely have been brought to Africa on a steam ship and have been transported by wagon to its destination. If only these items could speak! Mackay was a name used by a dealership as opposed to being a factory. The piano is German and was probably manufactured by a factory like Zimmermann.

The dimensions of this piano are a height of 125 cm, width of 150 cm and a depth of 63 cm.

The JAE 097 Mackay Bros upright pianoforte with stool is currently hired out.
