Serial number: 74075. This piano was manufactured in London, in 1950. It has a “Pregnant-Lady” design with Art-Deco styling. Challen is a very well-liked and respected make of piano.
This one of a compact design, in an Art-deco style. It is strange that this is basically like a miniature version of “Pregnant-Lady” design see other Challen pianos with the identical structure, but much larger in our Piano Gallery (like the DE 295 Challen). Unfortunately, its mahogany casing was damaged, so Eshelby Pianos spray painted the casing to achieve a satin black finish (October 2023). We will be adding photographs of the repolished piano as time allows.
The dimensions of this piano are a height of 106.5 cm, a width of 134.5 cm and a depth of 52.5 cm.
