Serial number: 87560. This piano was manufactured in Liepzig, Germany. Really the best one can get, it ought to be listed in the, “I can’t believe it’s possible to hire a piano of this standard!” category.
We painted this piano with a dark grey shade of chalk paint (March 2020). The current photos show it during the restoration process. It most unusually has its original candelabra shown, but not fitted, in one of the photos.
One rarely sees these extremely fine pianos. This is of a straight strung design with magnificent, mellow and rich tone. Blüthner specialises in creating a specific sound, which is powerful without any harshness. No original Blüthner could ever be accused of being tinny. They are overall our personal favourite in terms of quality and tone, a favourite instrument for accompaniment.
The piano has 85 keys, with a medium to heavier weight touch, and 2 pedals. It retains its ivory keys in excellent condition. The dimensions are a height of 130 cm, a width of 148.5 cm and a depth of 68 cm.
