Bechstein Upright Piano (605)

This is a Model 8 upright that was built in the early 1900 s in Germany. This is Bechstein’s “Concert” upright piano, being the top of the range upright.

We love these particular uprights as they surpass many grand pianos in tone and general feel. They are very scarce, and we try to buy them up enthusiastically when they do come on to the market, as they are so hard to get, and are always a good investment. This one is in a satin-black casing, retains its ivory keys, and almost all of its originality.

The piano is being offered in a condition where we can offer the same guarantee and assurances as per any of our pianos, but has some case imperfections, as well as internal ones. If this was to be our own piano, we would choose it as-is, as opposed to being restored, as one will get the same sort of use from this example as one would get from a restored one, at much less cost. This affords a serious player who cannot afford such a top of the line piano the opportunity to play a much higher quality instrument than would otherwise be possible.

The JAE 605 C. Bechstein Upright Piano and stool was sold in September 2016.
