Bechstein Upright Piano (728)

Serial number: 117154. This Bechstein Model 8 was built in the 1920’s. Model 8 Bechstein pianos are the top of the range upright pianos on offer. Listed by the manufacturer as a “Concert” upright, they are unsurpassed in terms of quality, tone, history and are a true collectors’ item, Bechstein being one of the oldest and most well-respected piano firms ever.

If you are looking for an upright piano that cannot be beaten, and will always command interest and rarity, as well as one that can be played by the best pianists and inspire anyone else too, this is surely one of the best choices one could make.

This one has a mahogany casing (Eshelby Pianos repolished it October 2017) and is in a very original state, with ivory keys and so on.

It has a wonderfully rich tone – while maintaining a cheerful clarity at the same time – and magnificent bass… The piano has 88 keys – with ivory naturals and a medium to lighter touch – and 2 pedals. The dimensions are a height of 130 cm, a width of 156,5 cm and a depth of 63 cm.

The DE 728 C. Bechstein Upright Pianoforte and stool is currently hired out.

This is how the piano looked before it was repolished.
