Serial number: 140088. This piano was built in Löbau, Germany, in 1971. It was purchased new in Pretoria by the ex-owner’s parents.
It has a high-gloss walnut casing that is in impeccable condition and has refined detail. An original condition piano showing minimal usage, this is probably one of the best upright pianos we’ve ever stocked.
The August Förster manufacturer carries an extremely high reputation and is still building pianos that are considered amongst the world’s best. A significant price tag accompanies that good standing and wonderful quality. One must also remember that a case in this matched walnut look with so much detail would add a huge premium. This matches tone and quality of any high class, respected European-built piano and should certainly be considered an option if looking at the purchase of any new piano as it’s going to be better than most at a price which could make it a good future investment. Pianos like this are simply almost unobtainable.
The piano has a very rich, rounded tone; a medium touch; 88 keys and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 117 cm, a width of 153 cm and a depth of 60 cm.
