This piano was manufactured in London. It is a lovely, small piano with interesting legs. Due to wear on the casing the piano was painted with a red chalk paint (June 2017).
The piano is small, smart and sassy! Undoubtedly, this would be a feature piece in any home.
Its dimensions are a height of 109 cm, a width of 138 cm and a depth of 55.5 cm.
The JAE 407 Allison Upright Pianoforte with stool is currently hired out.

These photographs show the piano during the painting process, pre waxing. Here the finish really does look like a dusty chalk. The wax transforms the finish from dull to vibrant, varied and dynamic in relation to light intensity.

It is hard to avoid natural wear on anything. The piano originally has a dark mahogany finish. A benefit of chalk paint is how it is designed so that wear becomes can add a desirable patina – as long as it has been painted with this consideration. The original dark finish serves as an undercoat, ideally suited to the red topcoat.
