Serial number 330995. This Model No. 330 K. Kawai was manufactured in Japan. In a time when Kawai was not recognised as a make, the piano was relabelled Bernhard Steiner. Note the photo where they have rubbed out Kawai to add Bernhard Steiner, yet have kept the Kawai factory logos and medallions.
It is in excellent, original condition with a high gloss black finish. There are minor veneer cracks, one on each cheek and a couple on the straight side, but these are not noticeable. We prefer to point them out as the piano is not new, we do not want to oversell it and we endeavour to be honest in the presentation of our stock.
The tone is unusually rounded and warm and is genuinely beautiful. The piano has 88 keys – with a smooth, medium weight touch – and 3 pedals. The middle one being a sostenuto pedal, something rarely understood or used, yet expected by seriously trained pianists. The dimensions are aesthetically extremely pleasing, giving an elegant look. It is about 155 cm in length and 149 cm wide.
The DE 925 Kawai (Rebranded Bernhard Steiner) grand piano and stool was sold in June 2024.
