Serial number: 206622. This Kawai was manufactured in Japan in 1966. It is hard to believe that there was a time that Kawai was not a recognised make of pianos in South Africa. This piano was relabelled Bernhard Steiner to increase saleability as the Kawai brand was finding its way into the marketplace.
Currently highly popular and respected for piano manufacture, this Kawai piano has a high-gloss black casing and is of lovely, small proportions. It would suit almost any serious player. The casing and internals are as original and in a very good, little-used condition.
The piano has 88 keys – with a medium weight touch (lighter than many grands heavy weight touch) – and 3 pedals. Its dimensions are a width of 148.5 cm and a length of 155 cm.
