Serial number 197746; 107746. This Julius Bluthner piano was manufactured in Leipzig, Germany. On balance, a great Blüthner is certainly one of our very favourite pianos. The extreme quality is something to appreciate, just the way they fit together, the perfect quality of parts and materials and severe craftsmanship is amazing.
These are sublimely beautiful pianos. Blüthner is one of the consistently top handful of German pianos and was especially prized as an accompaniment piano due to their deliberately rich powerful tone without being over bearing or harsh. Personally this is one of my favourite pianos and tones.
It was recently repolished to a high gloss black finish. The style remains relevant and displays well in any home setting, be-it modern or classic. This “concert” style upright’s dimensions are as follows: a height of 139 cm, a width of 149 cm and a depth of 70 cm. It has 85 keys – with a medium firm weight – and 2 pedals.
