Serial numbers: 29116; 58302. Otto Bach pianos are very popular in South Africa and carry a very good reputation; this one was actually manufactured in South Africa. It is a Classic style, later model with a good quality action and build.
Eshelby Pianos re-polished this Otto Bach with Rubio Monocote Pure over its walnut casing (07/2021). This has created a very attractive, more natural, low-gloss look, with an almost imperceptible grey tinge in some of the grain of the walnut timber. This is a beautiful, hand-polished finish.
Generally, Otto Bach pianos have a medium tone, neither bright nor mellow. This Otto Bach has a bright, but surprisingly rich, tone – lively without the harshness. The piano has 88 keys – with a medium touch weight – and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 114 cm, a width of 143 cm and a depth of 55.5 cm.
