The piano was built in Germany in the 1930’s. The German pianos of this era were largely of top quality and this one does not disappoint. This is a very unusual grand, known as a symmetrical grand, a design where both bass and treble sides are curved. We have only had one other grand built in this way, in stock, before. To have something different, but of such superior quality, is special. Carl Ecke is a highly prized maker of pianos and this is sure to be one of the pianos we will always remember.
We, Eshelby Pianos, spraypainted and repolished the piano to a high gloss white finish during August 2022. It has obvious collectors’ appeal and would be a talking point in any setting. The beauty is exceeded by the fact that this is a really good instrument beyond being a wonderful decorators’ piece.
Its small dimensions of a width of 143.5 cm and a length of 148 cm make it especially saleable. The piano has 85 keys and a beautifully mellow – yet strong – tone. The silky touch of a medium to heavier weight make it quite alluring to play.
The DE 901 Carl Ecke Grand Pianoforte with stool is currently hired out.

The following photographs show the piano as we purchased it. This piano was in obvious need of case restoration and a repolish, as well as internal restoration.

The photographs below are of the piano having just been repolished.
