Serial number 33425. Made in then Czechoslovakia in the 1950’s, this is the Arietta Model. The factory in which this piano was produced, Musicexport, was also famous for their production of Petrof pianos. They produced instruments of considerable quality: their pianos are highly regarded and currently very expensive too. We do not see many on our market but always buy them if given the chance. Their elevated standard and solidity are wonderful.
The tone is mellow and rich: a typically European sound over the harsher Eastern and American pianos. It has 88 keys – with a firm to heavier touch, well suited to someone wanting to develop technique or for serious practice – and 2 pedals. A grand piano has a heavier touch which often causes grief to students used to a light touch piano at home, when doing exams. The dimensions are a height of 110 cm, a width of 144 cm and a depth of 57 cm.
