There are not many Geyer pianos in South Africa, so it is not a familiar brand, however one should not underestimate the value of this piano. Although the manufacture of the “Geyer” piano brand only started in 1947 after WW2, within the second year of manufacture, the production surpassed predicted expectations of how many pianos they hoped to produce.

Furthermore, the make exhibits the influence, vast knowledge and experience of Adolf Geyer, acknowledged to have established the piano industry in Eisenberg, Germany with opening his factory on 2 December 1877. His father manufactured piano leather and he gained experience in the trade with an apprenticeship in Zeitz (Germany) and working in many piano factories in Germany, Canada as well as New York before founding his own factory. He lived in a time of the revolution of pianos.

This make has such an awesome history, and we will certainly be adding more information as time allows…
