Serial number 93934. This is a very late model example to find in South Africa. Although it was built in Braunsweig, Germany in 1965, this piano has a pre-war quality with a modern aesthetic. Grotrian Steinweg pianos have always been regarded as one of the very best and historic German pianos. It has been an amazing find. The piano is a very impressive instrument befitting it’s lineage – massively costly now and back when new too.
Eshelby Pianos spraypainted and polished this piano to a high gloss black finish in May 2020. This Grotrian is suited for a serious pianist or anyone who appreciates this sort of quality. This piano has 88 keys, with a heavier touch, and 2 pedals. The dimensions are a height of 120 cm, a width of 142 cm and a depth of 61.5 cm.
The DE 757 Grotrian Steinweg upright pianoforte and stool is currently hired out.
As one can see in these photographs of the piano, the casing needed attention, and thus needed to be repolished.
