Although the piano looks contemporary, it is actually an antique having been made in Germany in the 1930’s. This piano has interestingly shaped legs and decorative frames making it bold and such a beautifully well suited, contrastingly detailed stool.
The piano was painted in the Provence green finish of chalk paint (February 2017). The piano chalk finish was touched up April 2023. The structure and details of the piano really suits the chalk finish as the colour varies as light changes and this is highlighted by extra structural details of the piano. Although the topcoat can be distressed to reveal the light grey-brown undercoat, it has not been distressed. Hints of the undercoat show beautifully. This piano is gorgeous and – when it is not hired out – is welcomed back to reside in our lounge! The photographs do not do it justice. The Provence colour is that popular aqua misty green blue, it really is an amazing colour, and the way that the light varies the shades of the chalk finish is brilliant!
The piano has a mellow tone, 85 keys – with a medium touch – and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 130 cm, width of 148 cm and a depth of 63.5 cm.
