It is surprising that the Dietmann brand is not as familiar as Otto Bach, as South African manufactured Otto Bach pianos were built in the Dietmann Factory. Most Dietmann pianos are a step up in quality from Otto Bach pianos, some venture into the premier range. This is a premier quality Dietmann piano.
The casing has been painted in a Pure White chalk paint over Paris Grey with the white distressed to reveal the grey undercoat. There is also a raised Protea detail to match the raised piano name in the fall – and matching the South African manufacture of the piano (June 2017).
It has a brighter tone, 88 keys – with a heavier touch – and 2 pedals. This piano’s dimensions are height of 113 cm, a width of 147.5 cm and depth of 57 cm.
The JAE 429 Dietmann upright pianoforte with matching stool is available for hire and sale.
Hire price: a launch charge of R 1 950.00 and a monthly charge of R 475.00.

The photographs below show the piano during the painting process, before the protea stenciling was added and the piano waxed.
